Ashton Court Last Saturday

'Ich gehe mit meiner Laterne...

und meine Laterne mit mir...'

St Martin's Day last Saturday. Stefan, Leon and I went on a lantern parade with families from the German toddler group. We walked from St Matthew's Church to Cotham Gardens with some singing of Sankt Martin's songs and much relighting of our lantern. Stefan was relatively unimpressed particularly when strapped into the buggy for the walk back to the car. Though he did like the head of the buiscuit St Martin's goose which we shared ('cake with one raisin in it').

Waterbabies

Waterbabies again today including three under water 'swimmings'. ('Swimmings' are to baby water movements what 'solids' are to baby eating.) Leon first sank, then floated like a pro. This was our sixth time at Waterbabies where Leon at 9 months is one of the older ones and certainly the most bouyant. 12 proud mums and their offspring splashing about on command in a seriously warm pool.
Leon likes: throwing himself into pool from sitting on edge ('Leon, ready - splash'), throwing himself into pool from sitting on edge ('Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,...'), being thrown into air (and caught) ('Hurray'); dislikes: shower before and after; is neutral about: the rest. Breadstick and good sleep on way home.

And Stefan told a story at dinner about something turning round and round like a scare crow and thunderstorms and BIG fireworks - the usual. And all shared a punnett of the last of this year's local strawberries.
